MY SUMMER SCENTS

As we are all stuck in our homes trying to save as many lives as we can, I thought ‘why not dream about summertime with these lovely scents?’.

MARC JACOBS

It’s a gorgeous day outside, you’re wearing your favourite floaty dress and walking through a field full of wildflowers. The dried grass is crunching under each one of your steps and the sun is kissing your skin. You decide to stop and lay on the ground. You look up to the sky. It’s so peaceful. Suddenly, you feel a small breeze come through, it’s caressing your skin; you can smell nature and the scent of your own perfume.

This is the story I imagine every time I smell a Marc Jacobs perfume. And my cat, Queen Victoria definitely would agree with this.

MISS DIOR

Just like a rose, Miss Dior is graceful, young, adventurous and a representation of love. The best perfume to wear when you feel free of any responsibilities and crave the beautiful side of life. Traveling, learning a language, testing new food, discovering a wild beach or an amazing view, making new friends, falling in love. A summer love with Miss Dior.

HERMES

This essence of what is marvelous represents the end of a summer day, when the sky turns orange, the heat drops but you can still feel it in the stones. You’re freshly showered ready for a sophisticated evening and this intoxicating, yet still quite light scent accompanies you through the night.

ACQUA DI GIOIA

Aaaah we all remember the amazing advert of Acqua Di Gioia. Emily Didonato, running through a rainforest, raindrops falling from leaves to her skin. She finds a deserted beach with waves crushing towards rocks and lies down on the sand. « The Essence Of Joy » she says. All this accompanied by orchestral music. No? Is it just me who remembers this?

Anyway, every time I look at an Acqua Di Gioia bottle I hear the sea. It is purely the perfume to have on holiday by the beach.
