BEIGE LOVES:
'Sun Goes Down' - ZuDze
By Lucie Di Serio
13th March 2021
With his debut solo single ‘Sun Goes Down’, ZuDze creates an escape from reality, and takes us through a mesmerizing dream of summer romance, torrid heat, relaxing sound of waves and juicy mangoes on trees. Exactly what we need to survive until the 21st of June.
Short for ‘Zuleha Dzaya’, his alias ‘ZuDze’ pays tribute to his Kenyan heritage. As I observe his impressive journey so far, I believe ZuDze will become a well-known name across the European rap scene in no time. Zuleha Dzaya founded his own record label named ‘NOHIR’ at the beginning of 2020, and recorded his first solo single ‘Sun Goes Down’, which was released on all platforms on the 10th December 2020, with the collaboration of the producer ‘RNDM’, another successful artist to look out for. Together, they created a sound piece that represents the feeling of lost summer moments, with an Afrobeats influence and uptempo rythms. The music video was directed by Ben Wescott and styled and choreographed by Aimee Smith, both Manchester-based creatives. This collaboration resulted in magnificent, soothing, dreamy visuals, with a neutral colour scheme, unisex styling and African-inspired dance.
ZuDze has collaborated with many other interesting, upcoming artists, and is working on many more projects that are soon to come out.
What more can BEIGE Magazine love than a beige aesthetic music video? So if you’re ever feeling down about the UK’s constant grey skies, and are craving for some sunnier climes, grab your device, type ‘Sun Goes Down’ by ZuDze on any music streaming platform, add the song to your playlist and enjoy.
